At BlueHarborStudio, we recognize that plans may change, and commit to upholding transparent and equitable refund standards. This document details the scenarios under which refunds are granted for our yacht rental services.
It’s important to familiarize yourself with this policy before booking. When you confirm a rental with BlueHarborStudio, you are agreeing to these terms of refund.
Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule
More than 72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Full refund excluding any service charges
Processing Time: 5-7 business days
Handling Charge: €50 for credit card payments
Requirements: Request must be made in a written form via email or telephone
24-72 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Half of the total cost of the charter service
Processing Time: 7-10 business days
Handling Charge: €25 deducted from the refunded amount
Requirements: A legitimate reason is needed; administrative charges apply
Less than 24 Hours Before Charter
Eligible for: Refund not available
Exception: Situations of emergency will be given consideration
Alternative: In lieu of a refund, charter credit might be provided at the discretion of the management
Requirements: Official documentation is required for emergency-related claims
Weather-Related Cancellations
Our Weather Guarantee
Your safety is our highest concern. In the event that our experienced captain deems weather conditions as hazardous for the charter, we will offer the following flexible alternatives:
- Full Refund: Offered when rescheduling is not feasible
- Reschedule: Transfer your booking to a future available slot at no extra cost
- Charter Credit: Issue a credit valid for 12 months from the original charter date
Weather Assessment Process
Our evaluation of weather conditions includes:
- Analysis of wind speed and direction
- Review of wave height and sea conditions
- Forecasts for visibility and precipitation
- Advisories and warnings from the Coast Guard
- Professional captain's safety estimation
Decision Timeline: Determinations regarding weather cancellations are made at least 4 hours prior to the planned departure time.
Medical Emergency Refunds
Emergency Situations
We are sympathetic to the occurrence of medical emergencies. The following are situations that may qualify for special consideration:
- Unexpected illness or injury necessitating hospitalisation
- Passing away of an immediate family member
- Unforeseen military deployment or recall
- Receipt of jury summons or a legal subpoena
- Natural disasters impacting travel arrangements
Documentation Requirements
For emergency refund requests, the following documentation is to be provided:
- Official medical certification or hospital records
- Death certificate for related claims
- Military directives
- Court orders or notices for jury duty
- Travel warnings or declarations of emergency
Processing: Emergency refunds are handled within 3-5 business days once appropriate documentation is provided.
Operational Cancellations
Mechanical Faults
Should your assigned yacht encounter unsolvable mechanical issues:
- Substitute Vessel: Our intent is to supply a comparable yacht if possible
- Full Refund: Offered should we not find a suitable replacement
- Partial Refund: Provided if the alternate yacht varies in price
- Recompense: Additional compensation may be considered for the inconvenience caused
Crew Unavailability
On the rare occurrence of an unavailable certified crew:
- An attempt to organize a replacement crew will be made where possible
- A full refund will be given if the charter must be cancelled
- Opportunity to reschedule without incurring additional fees
Refund Processing
Payment Return Method
All refunds are issued back to the original payment method used at the time of booking:
- Credit Cards: Processed within 5-7 business days
- Bank Transfers: Processed within 7-10 business days
- Cash/Cheque: Handled within 3-5 business days

Credit Card Transactions
A €50 charge for cancellations with more than 72 hours notice
Bank Transfer Transactions
A €25 fee applies to all bank transfer refunds
International Transaction Handling
Additional costs may be applicable for international transfers
Charter Credits
Issuance of Credits
In certain scenarios, we may offer charter credits rather than refunds:
- Cancellations closer to the charter date (within 24 hours)
- Weather-related cancellations
- Requests to reschedule made by the customer
- Service interruptions
Credit Details
- Duration of Validity: Credits are valid for 12 months following issue
- Non-Transferability: Credits cannot be transferred to other individuals
- Monetary Worth: Credits cover the full value of the charter with no fees deducted
- Application: Credits may be applied toward any available future rentals
- Non-extendable: There will be no extensions past the 12-month period
Partial Service Refunds
Interruptions in Service
In the event that your rental is interrupted or must be cut short due to factors we are responsible for:
- Refund calculated pro-rata based on the unused time
- A credit equivalent to a future charter of the same value
- Complimentary additional services or upgrades
Guest-Based Interruptions
If a charter ends prematurely due to guest misconduct or violation of safety guidelines:
- No reimbursement for the remaining time will be provided
- Full payment is still owed
- Potential additional costs may be incurred
Dispute Resolution
In the event of disagreement with a refund-related decision, options you may pursue include:
- Seek an assessment from our administrative team
- Submit supplementary proof or documentation
- Engage with consumer protection entities for resolution
- Explore legal routes as permissible by relevant laws

Step 2: Share Required Details
Your refund application should include:
- Your proof of booking
- The scheduled date and time of your charter
- A clear explanation for the cancellation

- Your preference for how the refund should be returned
Step 3: Evaluation and Handling
We aim to acknowledge requests within a day, evaluate against this policy to render a response within two days, and process accepted refunds as per the indicated timelines.
Essential Notes
- All requests for refunds must be documented formally
- Refunds are executed in € irrespective of the initial payment's currency
- We strongly advise customers to consider travel insurance
- This policy is subject to updates, given with 30 days notice
- Refunds adhere to the relevant tax laws and regulations
